Welcome to my astronomy pages. My day job is as far removed from astronomy as you could possibly imagine so my personal celestial explorations are nothing more than a facinating hobby. I live in Leicestershire in the UK and almost all my observing and imaging occurs in my back garden, hence the title.

Here you will find galleries of my astronomical images plus some notes on my observing techniques and equipment. I have (2007) reorganised things a little to reflect the fact that planetary and lunar imaging is currently my main interest; I have now divided up the gallery section into Lunar, Solar, Planetary and 'other' departments. I have retained some of the pages on DIY projects and equipment from my old website and I plan to improve and add to these in the future.
